Ericka & John
When Ericka asked me to design her wedding flowers she was open to something new. We are so accustomed to traditional rustic barn weddings in Maine. So I really wanted create a more modern vibe without taking away from the vintage feel of their wedding.
Coolidge Family Farm located in New Gloucester, Maine is a lovingly cared for barn venue with historical details. The ceremony area is set in a wooded area carpeted with grass providing a very lush and green backdrop. When I created the arbor I was sure to reflex my roses! I am obsessed with this new technique. I wanted to give it a simplistic and contemporary look. The feminine pink roses added that necessary pop of color against all the greenery. The architectural shape of the cluster created an impactful piece juxtaposing the more traditional birch arbor. Her bouquet was styled in a dramatic shape with a bright and crisp color palette and an ode to avant-garde design. The flowers seamlessly flowed with the vintage and romantic vibe and made for a unique vision for the bride and groom.
It was a fresh new take on a rustic barn wedding, and I loved that Ericka and John were not afraid to be different. I entirely embrace this quality in myself and try to mirror this belief in my design work. So I always appreciate working with clients who are open-minded. Please enjoy their pictures below!
